The four guides are now live in the shop.
They started the way everything here starts, with something I kept running into. The book tells you to put it on paper. The instruction is there around page sixty four, and it comes back around again near page ninety six, and every sponsor I have ever heard talk about this says the same thing. Write it down. But nothing hands you the page. You end up with a spiral notebook and whatever you can remember of how the format is supposed to go, or you end up not doing it at all. I have watched that happen to people and I have done it myself.
So that is what these are. The page, already laid out. The Step in front of you, in its own words, with the principle behind it and room underneath to actually write.
They are print-ready PDFs, not fillable digital forms. There is no app, and there is not going to be one. Writing it out by hand is the point, not a limitation of the format. Something happens between your head and your hand that does not happen between your head and a keyboard, and the book knew that long before any of us got here.
One purchase and you can print it as many times as you want, for as long as you need it. If you sponsor somebody, that is the part that matters most. You can run a clean copy for every person you ever take through the Steps, and you only buy it once. The worksheets are built for that. Fill one up, print another.
Every one of them says plainly where the words came from. Out of respect for Tradition Six I would rather be plain than vague. None of this is official literature, none of it is affiliated with or endorsed by any fellowship, and none of it is a substitute for a sponsor. Where a Step or a prayer is printed, it is printed as written. Where a passage is quoted, it was hand picked out of the Big Book one at a time and credited by page. Everything else is mine, out of my own experience in the rooms, and it is not to be taken as the official stance of the program by any measure.
Each guide comes in color and in a printer friendly black and white version, both in the same download. Eight and a half by eleven, US Letter.
Newcomer Reference Guide
Ten pages for the first few weeks. What happens at a first meeting, how a meeting runs, the etiquette nobody explains because everyone already knows it, and twenty five terms you will hear in the rooms, defined plainly. The last working page is for phone numbers, because the best time to get a number is before you need it.
Amends Tracker
Sixteen pages on Steps Eight and Nine, from the first list to the last thing still owed. Building the list, sorting it, the kinds of harm that do not show up on a first pass, and an honest page for the names where the willingness is not there yet. Then four amends worksheets and a follow up log, because an amends with a payment behind it is not finished until the last payment.
Daily Inventory
Fourteen pages on Steps Ten and Eleven, printed together because that is how they are actually lived. Morning before the day takes over, one pause somewhere in the middle, and a short review at night. Then seven daily pages, one day to a page. Seven days is not a limit, it is a stack you refill.
Step Working Companion
Sixteen pages, every Step with its own page, its own principle, and its own worksheet. Step Four gets two, because a resentment inventory and a fear inventory do not fit on one. You can carry it to a meeting or to a table with your sponsor and work straight down the page instead of flipping between a book and a notebook.
Starter Pair
The Newcomer Reference Guide and the Daily Inventory together, twenty four pages. These are the two for the stretch before step work begins. Neither one needs a sponsor, a book, or knowing anything yet. They are the two you can use starting the day you walk in.
Complete Set
All four guides, fifty six pages, in one download. They point to each other where the work carries over, so the Companion’s Step Ten sends you to the Daily Inventory and its Steps Four and Eight send you to the Amends Tracker. This is the one for sponsors.
All four guides close on the same line, and it is the one I would want somebody to end on. Progress, not perfection.
The whole line is in the shop, and everything sells through Gumroad.
