Comment Guidelines

Nobody’s enforcing these from above. There’s no authority here handing down rules, just a few things that tend to keep a space like this workable, offered the same way most things get offered in these rooms, as a suggestion, not an order.

What tends to work. Your own experience, your own reaction, your own disagreement, said plainly. If something I wrote didn’t sit right with you, that’s worth saying. Questions, even hard ones. A word of encouragement for whoever else is reading, if something here landed for you and you want to pass that along.

What doesn’t. Naming, describing, or identifying anyone from a recovery meeting closely enough that someone could figure out who they are. The same rule I hold myself to. Your story is yours to tell. Someone else’s isn’t yours to tell for them. Outing anyone’s recovery, their meeting, or their identity, whether that was the intent or not. Harassment or targeting another commenter. Spam or promotion dropped in for its own sake. Anything illegal, or anything sexual involving a minor. That last one isn’t a suggestion.

Every comment gets read before it goes up, not because anyone’s being policed, but because this only works if it stays a place people trust. If something doesn’t make it through, or if what you’ve got to say doesn’t really fit a comment box at all, email john@hensleyart.com and it’ll reach me directly.
